Alex Abatie is Hawkeye Workshop’s CEO and Chief Pilot and brings more than 25 years as a professional photographer and design director to the field of drone-based aerial photography and
mapping. He also has extensive experience as a contract UAV pilot for a large utility company. Alex is an FAA licensed sport pilot as well as a pilot of remote aircraft, and is passionate about airspace safety. In addition to running Hawkeye Workshop, Alex teaches mapping and FAA certification courses for DARTDrones, a national drone training and development company. Alex is a Santa Barbara native. When not flying, he loves to spend time with his family enjoying our beautiful beaches and mountains
Carla Neufeldt is Hawkeye Workshop’s Marketing and Operations Manager. She worked in education – as a classroom teacher, professor, consultant, and a math coach – for 12 years before joining HEW. A “people person” through and through, Carla is committed to cultivating fruitful and lasting relationships with clients and other industry professionals. She loves to learn about each client’s particular field to help them determine the ways drone imagery and data collection can enhance the work they do. Carla loves the outdoors, and is particularly interested in how aerial mapping can support conservation and natural resource preservation efforts.
